"In this sweat station I fuel myself with salty waters produced after many hours of labour by fitness enthusiasts desperate to grow muscle. Heavy activity stimulating the apocrine sweat glands from which grains of salt come flowing down like an avalanche. A delicacy I was told the Persians couldn’t appreciate but that I swallow down like liquid gold. Those formed close to the anus even more sweet than those from the nipples. I fill my jar up till the neck and let it glide down my throat equally enjoying each drop while peaking at the men downstairs working themselves up into a sweat. Their skin carefully dabbed by soft pieces of silk cloth after each exercise, the cloth highly absorbing every drop produced. Mostly from the armpits where drops grow like weeds, it’s the goldmine among the glands. Once it has entered my mouth it glides down the gullet to my belly where water and salt are separated from each other, the water discharged, the salt kept for my body to feed upon. This true elixir of life is key to my everlasting youth to which even the tree of life holds no competition for the white moon on which the muscular youth wander houses more hares than any tree can hold. Despite my own time hoisting heavy kilos of mass, the sweat coming from my body is not enough to keep my youth content. Therefore we drink affluently from each other like a newborn sucking on its mother’s breast and head out into the night not alone like orphan boys but together like brothers."

PIT

Live performance

2014

PIT is a performance that took place in Roodkapje Rotterdam as part of 'SWEAT' by Jasper Griepink (http://roodkapje.org/sweat_by_jasper_griepink/). While doing a fitness ritual BOY's sweat is collected by his accomplice. This sweat is believed to be an elixir for everlasting youth, so whoever drinks from it or bathes in it, will gain the same youthness of BOY. The performance is ended by spraying the collected sweat into the space of the exhibition, spreading BOY's youth into the atmosphere.

Many thanks to Sybren Horst for being my accomplice in this performance
